Last week, I was lucky to be able to attend SilverDOCS film festival and conference in Silver Spring, MD. Jamie and I spent the week in Silver Spring, where there were over 100 documentary films, and a five day conference on documentary film making. One of the events that I attended was the panel given by the National Minority Consortia. At the end of the panel I asked what were the various organizations doing to promote vlogging on their websites. I thought their answers were instructive. We shall see how it plays out. Each one assured me that they were working away to make it very friendly for people to vlog on their sites. If you go to the link, you can get to each of their websites to judge for yourself.

I've been working on our original website Oyate Ta Olowan. We've been working on adding digital downloads to the site, but it's still a challenge. Oyate is a public radio series that we did on traditional Native American music. We did 52 half hour shows and traveled over 100,000 miles collecting music from all over the Americas. It was a while ago, but people still seem to love it, so we keep offering the shows for sale. It's all a part of our little press Many Kites Press. Life is so amazing, and so full, but we keep on trucking. I hope things are going well for all of you, and that continue to create wonderful things. Later, Milt Lee

Huh. I have a hard time finding their replies instructive. Partly because I can barely hear them. Are they saying they want to do this but need funding? Are they not interested?
It’s fascinating, but they are basically all saying that they are all ABOUT to do it - that they all want to do and in fact ARE doing it. But you could go to their individual websites and see what they have. I will remix the sound. It is hard to hear them.
Thanks, Cheryl.
