Speak Dog, Speak!

I've been working on our original website Oyate Ta Olowan. We've been working on adding digital downloads to the site, but it's still a challenge. Oyate is a public radio series that we did on traditional Native American music. We did 52 half hour shows and traveled over 100,000 miles collecting music from all over the Americas. It was a while ago, but people still seem to love it, so we keep offering the shows for sale.

It's all a part of our little press Many Kites Press. Life is so amazing, and so full, but we keep on trucking. I hope things are going well for all of you, and that continue to create wonderful things. Later, Milt Lee

Yep, it’s over – IT’S OVER!!!!  One more year written in the history books, and this year, I did a post every week on my blog and on Semanal.org.  So in the spirit of everybody else under the sun, here’s a short review of what happened – at least here at Hollow Bone Films.

Happy New Year!

Neurogenocide: an overview

Neurogenocide: an overview

We are working on a rather large project on the history of education, the path of learning, and the school systems in the United States.  When it is completed, it may end up being a series of several hours, but that will become clearer as we move along.  Today, I thought I would post a short demo reel of some of the folks that we have interviewed over the last year.  This will give you an idea of where we are going, but please understand that this does not include any of the pieces that show how long it takes to learn “anything”, and it also does not include any of the students that have suffered from Neurogenocide, and it certainly does not include any of the school rooms where neurogenocide is happening, and of course it does not include all the wonderful things that we want to show folks about how education could be done – that would let people grow up excited about learning, and totally engaged in the process of learning.

Ecospeed – Electric Assist Bikes

Ecospeed - Electric Assist Bikes

This summer, I had a chance to work with the folks at Ecospeed. They make an electric assist for recumbent bikes, and are they ever fun!  You haven’t really riden a bike till you’ve riden a bike with motor.  When you are headed uphill, or you just feel like flying – press the accelerator, and you are taking off.

The other thing that is so amazing is that you are doing your pocketbook and the planet a huge favor.  Imagine not having to gas up at $ 4.00 a gallon (or more) – just so that you can go to the store, or pick up the mail, or just feel like messing around.  The great thing about using an electric bike is that you can use electricity that could be produced by wind or solar, and the amount of energy it takes to move a 40 lb. bike is so much less than it’s ever going to be to move a 3000 lb. car.
