Speak Dog, Speak!

I've been working on our original website Oyate Ta Olowan. We've been working on adding digital downloads to the site, but it's still a challenge. Oyate is a public radio series that we did on traditional Native American music. We did 52 half hour shows and traveled over 100,000 miles collecting music from all over the Americas. It was a while ago, but people still seem to love it, so we keep offering the shows for sale.

It's all a part of our little press Many Kites Press. Life is so amazing, and so full, but we keep on trucking. I hope things are going well for all of you, and that continue to create wonderful things. Later, Milt Lee

Folks, it was brought to my attention that the Xacti E1 is out of sync – by 5 Frames.  So I checked it out and here’s what I found.  I had not heard about this, but that only means that I don’t read everything on the web.

According to Wikipedia, there are 3 versions of this tune – Pat A Cake, Patty Cake, and Paddy Cake (clearly Irish).  But around here, it’s Patty Cake.  Kaden is just wonderful.  So cute that I have to post some more of this tyke.  24 pounds at 6 months!!  Outrageous!  No more mother’s milk!!!  What a sweetie-pie!  Being a Grampa is pretty fun, I gotta tell you.

Blueberry Chronicles: Rabbit Proof Fence

Blueberry Chronicles: Rabbit Proof Fence

This is the last piece on our first summer of blueberry farming.  With the help of Rick Baird, Jamie’s brother, we got our rabbit fence up – literally minutes before we left to come back home for the winter.  It was a sad time, but it was also joyous to see such a beautiful fence and the blueberries prospering so well.

Just before we left, I asked Jamie to do a little piece on her favorite blueberry patch.  Now as you may know, blueberry patches are very, very secret, and to let you in on where her’s is – is really an amazing act of trust.  But just to make sure that you really don’t tell anybody where this patch is – you have to swear that you will never tell anybody where this is – I mean it.   I know it’s hard on the internet to get people to take a blood oath, but I’m asking you – prick your finger  and swear that you will never – ever tell anybody where this patch is located.  Then after you have done that, you can watch the video.

I am so amazed at her drive to pick berries.  She picked over 5 gallons of berries while we were in Minnesota.  Most folks go out for a few minutes – get bite a few times, and stop.  She goes for hours at a time.  Amazing!
