I’ve been working on a new trailer for Video Letters From Prison. We went to a wonderful workshop with Fernanda Rossi who told us about how to make a good trailer. I hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think about it.
Speak Dog, Speak!
I've been working on our original website Oyate Ta Olowan. We've been working on adding digital downloads to the site, but it's still a challenge. Oyate is a public radio series that we did on traditional Native American music. We did 52 half hour shows and traveled over 100,000 miles collecting music from all over the Americas. It was a while ago, but people still seem to love it, so we keep offering the shows for sale. It's all a part of our little press Many Kites Press. Life is so amazing, and so full, but we keep on trucking. I hope things are going well for all of you, and that continue to create wonderful things. Later, Milt Lee

Cool, it’s great to see a new post from you, Milt. Oh my gosh, what a trailer.
Initially I thought it was moving kind of slow, but when you started inter-cutting the footage of the father watching your interviews with his girls I just became riveted. I kept wondering how he would react.
I do think it’s still over-long compared to a typical trailer, and that it could be boiled down further and still have great impact. But you’ve made a wonderful, wonderful excerpt that leaves me wanting to know more.
Bravo my friend!
This was amazing, I could see it helping fathre;s taking a good look at the impact that being out of your child’s life. I think you need to do more and put it out to the prison’s , and hopefully It can help with intervention.
Thanks Cheryl,
I was using the guidelines that I got from the Documentary Doctor – Fernada Rossi. She suggests 6-8 minutes since it is not a theatrical trailer – rather it is a fundraising trailer, but I really appreciate your comments. The important part is your comment “leaves me wanting to know more” That’s the key!
Take care,
Milt
Milt,
Is the whole story there, in the trailer? I hope not, but one thing is for sure. Now, I want to know.
Thanks Meg, nope the whole story is not in the trailer. It’s designed to make you want more, and I guess it worked. I’ll let you know when it’s finished.

Wow, this is great. The story is excellent and your trailer has just enough of the story to make me want to watch the whole movie.
Please let me know when it’s finished.
Hi Milt,
Watched your trailer, it was a good one. kept me wanting lots more. Do you know when it will be done?
thanks from Montana.
This was my very first visit to this website. I took a look at the trailer and my eyes welled up. Needless to say, ‘I’ll be back.’
